The New Tiger 900 Rally Pro blends class-leading off-road capability and specification with long-range comfort, road handling and style.

Information

The world’s longest running adventure name, the Triumph Tiger has a rich history.

From the early competition off-road motorcycles of the mid 1930s to Ted Simon’s Tiger 100, featured in his 1979 best-selling book, Jupiter’s Travels. Ted’s Tiger was the bike that to all intents and purposes started the adventure bike movement — since then the Tiger name has been synonymous with getting out there — all the way out there — and enjoying every type of terrain and landscape on two wheels.

Reborn in 1993 with the New Tiger 900 before redefining the middleweight adventure world with the 2010 arrival of the Tiger 800, the evolutionary path of the Tiger has led to this, the very latest iteration of the New Tiger 900.

A culmination of lessons learned from winning international rally races in the hands of the legendary Iván Cervantes and feedback from owners all over the world, the New Tiger 900 range offers more of everything. More power, more comfort, more capability and more technology.

Reasons to Ride

ENGINE

Unique to Triumph, the 888cc T-plane crank engine with its 1,3,2 firing order and distinctive, raspy triple exhaust bark, has been further developed for the New Tiger 900 range.

A power increase of 13 per cent over the outgoing model takes peak power to 108PS. But the headline numbers only tell part of the story. What is so special about the New Tiger 900 engine is its unique flexibility and capability to tackle any surface with a tractable bottom-end, smooth mid-range and a searing top end rush.

Thanks to both the engine character and improvements to the ride-by-wire system, fine throttle control in technical off-road situations is as it should be — intuitive and confidence-inspiring.

The smooth mid-range maintains that grip and drive from the low-down tractability before building to a raucous top-end, perfect for twisty cornering or blasting steep ascents.

On the road this translates to a bike that’s super-manoeuvrable and easy to ride at low speeds in town, but with plenty of performance for rapid bursts of acceleration and effortless high-speed touring. Whatever the surface and whatever the ride, this engine delivers.

CHASSIS

The chassis has been designed to offer the ideal blend of strength and flexibility to endure the rigours of tough rally stages while still offering the compliance needed for race-winning rider feedback and confidence.

The Rally Pro uses fully-adjustable Showa suspension with a generous 240mm front and 230mm rear travel. This high-quality progressive suspension set-up can soak up the biggest hits off-road, taking heavy landings and step-downs in its stride while still offering suppleness in the top-end of its stroke to smooth out the ripples in the asphalt for sublime levels of rider comfort and feedback

Brembo Stylema brake calipers come as standard on all New Tiger 900 models. By far the best brakes in class, immense stopping power is matched only by the exquisite lever feel that helps to keep even fierce braking smooth and controlled.

While your riding aspirations might not extend to winning races such as the Baja Aragón, 1000 Dunas Raid and the Bassela Enduro, the results of Iván Cervantes’ victories in these prestigious world-class events can be felt throughout the New Tiger 900.

Excellent agility, a more intuitive and comfortable riding position both seated and standing, exceptional low-speed balance and high-speed stability are all traits of this latest version of the benchmark middleweight adventure motorcycle.

TECHNOLOGY

The New Tiger 900 leads the way with a technology package like no other motorcycle in the middleweight adventure category — and many of the key features come as standard across the three-bike New Tiger 900 range.

Optimised cornering ABS and Traction Control bring added rider confidence and safety. Among other variables, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) constantly monitors lean angle, brake pressure and wheel speed to deliver optimum grip and performance on both deceleration and acceleration. These settings can be altered in the four core riding modes, Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-Road. The Pro models also gets a Rider Programmable mode to allow fine tuning to suit the rider’s preferences and style, while the Rally Pro also has an additional Off-Road Pro mode for extreme off-road riding.

Enhanced braking is a new feature for the New Tiger 900 range. Helping to balance front and rear braking balance perfectly, and working in harmony with the ABS system, harder braking is more stable while stopping distances are significantly reduced.

Triumph’s Slip and Assist clutch gives a light clutch lever action for reduced rider fatigue. Additionally, this system helps to improve rear wheel control under hard deceleration and aggressive downshifting for smooth and assured corner entry on a range of surfaces.

The Triumph connectivity system is also now standard fit on all New Tiger 900 models. Music, phone, and turn-by-turn navigation can be accessed via the intuitive and easy-to-read 7” TFT display.

The GT Pro and Rally Pro also benefit from the Triumph Shift Assist system. This allows clutch-less gear changes both up and down the gearbox for near-seamless acceleration and super-smooth deceleration and stable corner entry.

Heated grips and seats plus a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are also standard fit on both Pro models. The Tiger 900 Rally Pro also has 6 riding modes:  Road, Rain, Sport, Rider Configurable, Off-Road and Off-Road Pro

DESIGN

Stunning new bodywork with a more integrated design flows beautifully from the beak, through the cockpit and into the side panels.

The result is a sharper, more modern look that redefines the aesthetic of this all-new Tiger.

Contemporary paint schemes that suit the character of each Tiger bring this range to life — from the urban style of the GT; to the rich, subtle tones of the GT Pro; through to the Rally Pro’s bold white frame and lively graphics — each bike’s unique style characterised and represented flawlessly.
